Egypt’s non-oil commodity exports jump by 40%

Egypt’s non-oil commodity exports rose by 40 percent in the first nine months of 2021 to record USD 29.7 billion, compared to the USD 21.2 bln in 2020

According to the statement released on Sunday, Egypt’s imports in the same time period also increased to USD 61 billion, a 16 percent increase from the USD 52.4 billion recorded in 2020.


The G20’s countries topped Egypt’s exports to international blocs with the sum of all transactions valued at USD 14.1 billion, followed by EU states with exports hitting USD 9.6 billion.


Arab states came in third place with total exports recording USD 7.8 billion, while the G7 countries ranked fourth with a total trade value of USD 6.3 billion, the official statistics agency added.


African Union countries ranked fifth with exports of USD 4 billion, followed by COMESA countries recording USD 2.2 billion in exports.


The Nile Basin’s countries were at the bottom with exports valued at USD 1.1 billion.
