Egypt moved up from 95th to 92nd place in the Global Innovation Index 2019 focusing on the future of medical innovation.

Egypt maintained its 17th place in the region of North Africa/West Asia while climbing up 3 places overall compared to last year.

The report stated that Egypt's game was strong when it came to knowledge intensive employment, knowledge impact, creative goods, exports and market scale as well as cluster development. While Egypt scored low on regulatory environment, infrastructure and investments.

The report is issued by Cornell University, INSEAD and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
