Foreign workers at government, public business sectors increase 42.4% in 2019
Foreign employees in the government and public/public business sectors increased by 42.2% to 1,388 in 2019, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
The data was reported in the agency's "Annual Bulletin for Foreign Employees in Governmental & Public/Public Business Sectors 2019", published on Tuesday.
The report added that, of this amount, 1,233, or 88%, were male, and 155 (or 11.2%) were female, with the rise attributed to the increase in investment projects in Egypt. The 2019 figures show a significant increase on 2018, when 975 foreign employees were reported in these sectors.
