Egypt’s Suez Canal annual revenue rises to $5.9bn

Annual revenue from Egypt’s Suez Canal rose by $300 million to $5.9 billion, the canal authority chairman said on Tuesday.

The canal is the fastest shipping route between Europe and Asia and one of the Egyptian government’s main sources of foreign currency.
